CLEVELAND, Ohio ? June 2004 ? To ease the financial burden on schools, municipalities
and child care facilities due to growing demand for safe playgrounds and increasingly
stringent government regulations, Kids Karpet® has awarded free engineered
wood fiber playground surfacing in each of three categories; Elementary Schools
(Public or Private), City/Community Parks, and Child Care Facilities. Contestants
were judged based on a 200-word or less essay describing the organization's
need for a Kids Karpet® donation.
The winning organizations in each category were as follows: Elementary Schools:
Deepwater Elementary in Pasadena, Texas; City/Community Parks: Memorial Park
in Westfield, NJ; Child Care Facilities: Puerto Rican Action Board Preschool
